Turkmen belt wrestling masters won 9 medals at the Asian Championships in Uzbekistan

Turkmen athletes won nine medals at the Asian Belt Wrestling Championships held in Fergana, Uzbekistan. Our team won three gold and six bronze medals.

In the freestyle belt wrestling competition, which brought together over 200 athletes from 15 countries, Turkmen wrestlers won three gold medals and three bronze medals. Shatlyk Durdygulyyev (up to 68 kg), Hekim Tashliyev (up to 100 kg), and Annagurban Allaberdiyev (over 100 kg) won gold medals. Palvan Babajanov (up to 57 kg), Hekim Nurberdiyev (up to 62 kg), and Myrat Janmammedov (up to 82 kg) took third place in the same event.

Success of the Turkmen team was cemented by the classical belt wrestling masters, where 200 athletes from 10 countries competed for medals. The bronze medalists at the Asian Championship were Hojanazar Annayev (up to 75 kg), Batyr Hemrayev (up to 82 kg), and Hekim Tashliyev (up to 100 kg), who became a two-time medalist at the tournament.

The superb performance demonstrated by our compatriots in Fergana further confirmed the high standing of our national belt wrestling school in the international sporting arena.
