The Cultural centre of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan hosted a landmark event combining two important humanitarian initiatives: an awards ceremony for the winners of an art competition dedicated to the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries, and the presentation of a Turkmen translation of a unique publication about Iranian national cuisine.

The event was given a special flavour by the presence of professional artists and amateur artists who submitted their works from the Balkan, Lebap, and Mary velayats, as well as from the capital of the country.

The meeting was opened with welcoming remarks by the head of the Iranian diplomatic mission, Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani, cultural adviser, Abdulreza Abbasi, and the head of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, Charymyrat Yazmyradov.

Speakers unanimously stated that such joint projects, creative exhibitions, and cultural events serve as an effective factor in deepening historically established humanitarian ties, contributing to the enrichment of the bilateral cultural dialogue between Turkmenistan and Iran.

The central event of the evening was the summing up of the results of the art competition, in which more than 50 paintings were submitted. To ensure maximum objectivity, a panel of experts evaluated the work of professional artists and amateurs in separate categories.

The jury decided to determine three main winners in both groups. In addition, the organising committee established two special awards for the best creative idea. The winners were awarded honorary certificates and cash prizes, and all contestants received commemorative diplomas for participation.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of a Turkmen translation of a publication about Iranian national cuisine.

The new book, consisting of 10 thematic sections, includes recipes for more than 100 traditional Iranian dishes. The publication of this work is intended to expand the knowledge of Turkmen readers of the rich historical and cultural heritage and everyday life of the neighbouring state, becoming another important step towards bringing the two fraternal peoples closer together.
