Today, the Mukam Palace of the state culture centre of Turkmenistan hosted a solemn forum, in which speeches of issues of organisation significant events in the modern history of the country were heard, especially festive events planned for the current year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged racers». The present event once again confirms a complex approach shown at the state level to preparation and conduction of significant holidays in the life of the country and society.
Among the basic events of this year, which will enter the glorious annals of the Turkmen people, - 35th anniversary of sacred independence of our fatherland. Events on the occasion of the forthcoming significant date cover all corners of our land. It is noteworthy that prompt development of Turkmenistan in all spheres serves as a clear evidence of efforts made at the state level to ensure the happy life of our citizens.
Participants of the forum familiarised themselves with the exhibition of decorative and applied arts, museum articles, works of artists and sculptors devoted to Akhal-teke horses held in the foyer of the Palace. A separate place here is given to remarkable works by the head of the state and National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag. As known, among works by Hero-Arkadag, a lot of such works in which the history of magnificent Akhal-teke horses in detail is narrated and surprising features of this breed are described.
As was marked, the present review of works of arts and the materials presented at it of the role of national values, which have become a contribution to universal culture, allow receiving more detailed information of exemplary principles and heritage of the Turkmen people.
Further, in the Mukam Palace, the solemn forum devoted to festive events, to be held within 2026, which was declared as «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged racers» and marks the 35th anniversary of sacred independence of the country, started its work. A separate place on its agenda was given to the speeches, concerning popularisation and augmentation of glory of famous Akhal-teke horses in the world.
Speakers marked the popularity of Akhal-teke horses increasing in the world thanks to large-scale reforms held in the country with a view of development of national horse breeding. As was underlined, these reforms initiated by Hero-Arkadag - the true expert and connoisseur of magnificent racers, are successfully realised today under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar. Results of steps carried out in the field fully testify to augmentation of international recognition of "paradise" horses known from time immemorial. Our "paradise" racers, graceful carpets, loyal alabai dogs and other values are the national heritage, which created by Turkmens in the course of history and has reached up to now. The state policy pursued by Hero-Arkadag and nowadays successfully continued under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, is based upon noble principles of our people.
As known, the approval of the Program of horse-breeding and equestrian sports events in 2026 declared as «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged racers» by the corresponding Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, even more raises the importance of this significant year.
The wide scale of celebration of Independence Day demands conduction of the co-ordinated work already today. Making a worthy contribution to the organisation of these events at high level - the major task and the big duty of each of us. We say: «Our racers – a model of perfection and a touchstone of beauty». Therefore, the works devoted to "paradise" racers, should be faultless. Independence - a statehood basis. Each of our work connected with the holiday of independence and each work of art created by us should correspond to the high level.
As was pointed out, Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar express huge trust in each of us. Inspired by it, we should participate actively in the celebrations held in our peaceful and happy state, it is great honour for us.
One should underline that Akhal-teke horses possessing really surprising qualities, always were the main ornament of national festivals. So, the attribute of national celebrations are horse jumps. One should notice that horses of this unique breed – an outstanding contribution of Turkmens to the cultural treasury of humanity. Consequently really a grandiose work is implemented today to revive the former glory of "winged" racers. In this work, achievements of our jockeys at prestigious horse-racing competitions and reviews of the international level are remarkable.
One should mention the successes of the Group of national horse games «Galkynyş», created under the initiative and efforts of Hero-Arkadag. The performance of this group at the international events receive a huge recognition. Thus, its achievements, including prize-winning places, fully testify to development of national equestrian sport and horse circus art.
The importance of the present forum was also increased by the video clips devoted to glorified Akhal-teke horses and high points from celebrations on the occasion of the national holiday of the Turkmen horse, opening the significance of events of the holiday in glory of magnificent horses, marked in April, 2016.
As shown in video clips, Hero-Arkadag, having saddled the dun horse by the name Miras presented on the occasion of the holiday on behalf of horse breeders of the country, watched national traditions and customs executed at the «ak öý» yurtas established thereby.
The picturesque atmosphere of celebrations organized there was also increased by the wedding ceremony of members of the Group of national horse games «Galkynyş». The given event attested to the fact that significant holidays in Turkmen society come in batches. The people think that wedding - the most important event in the life of everyone, and this truth was displayed in the celebrations developed in April 2016. According to a noble tradition, they wished to the bride a good luck. Giving a daughter in marriage and marrying a son are considered as the most pleasant moments in human life. The gathered wished success to large-scale celebrations, and each family - happiness, unity and prosperity.
Family foundations of the Turkmen people possess a deep sacral sense. They act as that an invisible link that connects generations, filling a vital life mode by special spirituality and harmony. The atmosphere of the festival was penetrated by sincere pleasure and fun. One of the bright attributes of Turkmen weddings is, of course, a wedding train. As a whole, in wedding traditions and ceremonies wise precepts of the ancestors, which have reached us through centuries, find a new expression. So, during the present happy epoch these traditions not simply remain, and receive a worthy continuation in the spirit of the present time. All it testifies to the value given at the state level to maintenance of continuity and development of national customs displayed today in national holidays and celebrations. As known from history, the Turkmen people have created many wedding ceremonies, called to promote happiness and prosperity of newly married couples. All it testifies to the significance of wedding traditions.
At those unforgettable minutes, Hero-Arkadag addressed again a newly married couple with warm words, having wished them happy life. So, in the glorified Group of national horse games «Galkynyş» one more family was formed.
Parents of the newly married couple expressed sincere gratitude to the gathered, especially having noticed that happiness of their families is inseparably linked with Turkmen racers, and wished the youth happiness in their chosen trade. All it, becoming another acknowledgement of harmonious combination of Turkmen weddings with noble traditions, increased joy and pleasure. Thus, celebrations inherent in Turkmen weddings are marked with a big scope.
The solemn forum proceeded with speeches of forthcoming festive events of the year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged racers», aimed at augmentation of the glory of Akhal-teke horses and popularisation of national art of horse breeding. In them, it was pointed out that within this year, a variety of large-scale actions for popularisation of Akhal-teke horses in the world - original property of people fostered by Turkmen horse grooms will be held.
As was marked, our equestrian sports groups take an active part in the international festivals, reviews and beauty contests, which are held both in Turkmenistan, and abroad where they show a high level of skill. During visits to the USA, People’s Republic of China, Great Britain and Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation), Hero-Arkadag held meetings with horse breeders and profile specialists, devoted to horse-breeding art. So the vigorous activity serves as evident acknowledgement of special attention, which Hero-Arkadag invariably gives to development of national equestrian sport. In that regard, the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people in celebrations on the occasion of the horse show at the Windsor Castle was especially marked. Within this prestigious action, which was held under patronage of the British royal family, the meeting of Hero-Arkadag with King Charles III took place. The parties discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation.
At the same time, it is pleasant to notice that the Group of national horse games «Galkynyş» constantly participates in international competitions and occupies prize-winning places. Members of the Group adequately presented Turkmen national horse breeding art in Azerbaijan and Turkey. Triumphal performances of the Group added a glory to the motto of this year and enriched its maintenance.
Participants of the solemn forum also underlined a complex approach of art workers of the country to issues of popularisation of legendary Akhal-teke horses, creation of the works devoted to traditions of national horse breeding. It is an evident result of efforts of creative figures on advancement of invaluable national property, presented to the world by Turkmens.
As was marked, throughout entire history, Akhal-teke horses invariably were the main theme of works of poets and musical compositions of bagshys. Traditions of artistic realisation of the image of the Akhal-teke horse, acting as a link between the epoch and generations, successfully proceed in the present period as well. So, the national love and pride in Akhal-teke racers find its reflexion in works of art.
In the song and musical performances performed there, famous magnificent Akhal-teke horses were glorified. Popularisation of a huge contribution of our glorious ancestors to the world culture - one of the important goals facing workers of arts. In that connection, on the threshold of the 35th anniversary of sacred independence, the works of art of Akhal-teke horses, supplement the maintenance of celebratory events. Performances of masters of arts sounded a hymn to beauty of Akhal-teke horses, which take an important place in the history of our country and people, grandiose work of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar in this area, and happy life during the present happy epoch.
Today, the international recognition of our "paradise" racers personifying the fine sample of beauty and playfulness, our national pride, steadily grows. In the new city, erected under the initiative and with assistance of Hero-Arkadag, the International Academy of Horse Breeding named after Aba Annayev, State Horse Circus named after Gorogly and the research and production centre of horse breeding operate. The similar complex basis opens ample opportunities for study of traditions of national horse breeding and development of advanced world experience in corresponding areas.
As the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag underline, maintenance of all spheres with the qualified personnel is defined among the major goals of the present. Thus at the state level, a great significance is attached to development of target international cooperation and deep study of achievements of modern science in the field. All this promotes development of traditions of national horse breeding and equestrian sport.
As known from the historical data, magnificent Turkmen racers, achieving good results in various kinds of equestrian sport, entered into remarkable pages of the history of world horse breeding. In this regard, one can note such racers, as the Arab, Absent, Polatly, Garlavach, the Arab II, and Tarlan, which won a victory in jumps for the distance of 500 kilometres.
In that connection, a great significance attached to the organizational level of events on the occasion of the significant date - the 35th anniversaries of our great independence in the year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged racers» was underlined. Such a complex approach will provide conduction of celebratory events at the level corresponding to the spirit of the present time.
During the solemn forum, it was also noticed that the works, which have written by Hero-Arkadag such as «Akhal-teke horses - our pride and glory», «A Horse is a Symbol of Faithfulness and Happiness», are recognised as a valuable contribution to wide popularisation of national traditions of horse breeding and their passage to the rising generation. It is one of the important areas of social development in the new historical epoch.
In the speeches devoted to solemn actions, which are aimed at popularisation of "winged" horses, national culture and traditions, it was noticed that in the present period, being guided by instructions of Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar, necessary efforts are made for development of our national culture, art and literature. As was underlined, along with profile structures, perfection of work of mass media is of great importance in propagation of creative potential of our native land. The deep sense of words of Hero-Arkadag was thus marked: «Love to horses - one of the glorious pages of Turkmen culture».
In the present period, our country is recognised as the centre of regular international cultural events, conferences, exhibitions and film festivals. It opens ample opportunities to increase the authority of independent neutral Turkmenistan on the international scene. Workers of culture and art bring a worthy contribution to enrichment of the inner world of our people, give particular attention to large scale celebrations at the high organizational level and appropriate preparation of the cultural program of festivals.
The significance of display of video reels showing high points of celebration of the national holiday of the Turkmen horse was also marked in the forum. The historical destiny and way of life of our people are inseparably linked with racers. The deep sense consists in the fact that these noble traditions adequately proceed thanks to diligence of grateful generation of the happy epoch. Traditions of horse breeding and art of horse grooming - invaluable property, which the Turkmen people have brought in the treasury of world culture. The given fact increases an international recognition and honour of the people, who attach a special loyalty to their work and trades.
As known, valuable finds, which have been unearthed at historical monuments of Jeytun, Anau, Altyn-depe, Nisa, Margiana and others, testify to the fact that the history of Akhal-teke horses goes back into the depth of millennia. In this connection, in the present period, workers of culture and art of our country, without sparing their forces and talent, bring a big contribution to international recognition and augmentation of Akhal-teke horses.
Then, the solemn forum in the Mukam Palace of the state culture centre of Turkmenistan proceeded with musical performances of masters of art. Bright and inspired songs and melodies performed by famous variety stars and musicians-bagshys added to the event a special celebratory atmosphere. In performances of masters of art, who make all efforts to welcome worthily the 35th anniversary of sacred independence, creating new works, the great purposes realised in the country, the values presented by the Turkmen people to the world, were glorified.
The joint execution of the song created by Hero-Arkadag «Forward, forward and only forward, my native land — Turkmenistan!», became the culmination of the solemn forum by actors, musicians-bagshys and young soloists.
