From the 29th of June to 20th of July, students from the International university of oil and gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, under the guidance of a university professor, completed an internship at the China University of Petroleum in Beijing.
The internship program for Turkmen students is designed to familiarize them with the activities and experience of the China university of petroleum and the China national petroleum corporation (CNPC), as well as to train highly qualified specialists for the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan and develop international cooperation in the energy sector.
The China university of petroleum has prepared a special program for three-week training and industrial practice for Turkmen students. As part of this program, students from our country are given a detailed introduction to the Chinese oil university, its laboratories, training centres, and museums. The study visit program includes a visit to the China national petroleum corporation and its production facilities.
In addition, short-term courses have been organized for students on the topics of «Fundamentals of the chinese language», «Chinese culture», «Green energy, reducing carbon emissions», «The future of oil and gas», and «Prospects for energy cooperation on the Silk Road». The training is conducted under the guidance of leading professors from the Chinese university.
Guests from Turkmenistan are also offered excursions to the China Geology Museum, the China Science and Technology Museum, and the Great Wall of China.
During their internship, students learn about cutting-edge methods for integrating digital technologies into the educational process, the potential of using artificial intelligence in education, modern interactive teaching methods, and the organisation of scientific research. They also exchange experiences with Chinese and Turkmen students studying at the China university of petroleum.
Internships in China provide students with ample opportunities to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, develop professional skills, learn from the best global practices in science and education, and apply innovative technologies in the educational process.
The student internship is organised within the framework of the Agreement on the establishment of a joint Turkmen-Chinese energy training center signed in April of this year between the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, the Centre for Chinese-Foreign Language Exchanges and Cooperation of the Ministry of education of China, and the China university of petroleum.
Internships for students are also provided for in the Memorandums of Understanding signed in 2023 between the International university of oil and gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, the China national petroleum corporation (CNPC), and the China university of petroleum (Beijing).
Based on these cooperation agreements, active and fruitful interaction has been established between the parties, within the framework of which internships for Turkmen students in China are regularly conducted, as well as other various scientific and educational events.
The International university of oil and gas named after Y. Kakayev trains highly qualified specialists, actively participating in the global academic community and collaborating with prestigious universities and major industry companies worldwide to achieve the integrity of education, science, and industry and expand mutually beneficial international partnerships in this area.
