President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Lebap Velayat on a working visit, attended the ceremony of laying the foundation of a residential area and the opening ceremony of a microdistrict, erected in the administrative centre of the eastern region of the country.
In the morning, the President of Turkmenistan arrived to the venue for construction of the new housing estate, where the Chairperson of the Mejlis, cabinet ministers, heads of various departments, Lebap Velayat Khyakim, the elders and youth greeted the Turkmen leader.
The representatives of the younger generation of the country – a boy and a girl greeted the Turkmen leader and wished him good health and every success in his versatile activity. At request of children, the President signed the memorial letter to the descendants on the occasion of the remarkable event in Lebap velayat. The letter was put into a special capsule.
Then the Turkmen leader launched the construction, laying the foundation of the new housing estate.
17 four-storeyed 32-apartment houses as well as 170 two-storeyed cottages with land plots and other facilities will be built along the highway leading to the Turkmenabat International Airport.
The new three-room apartments will occupy the area of 101 and 119 square metres, and five-room cottages – 250 square metres.
A secondary school designed for 600 students, a trading centre and a consumer services centre, supplied with the advanced equipment, will be built on the territory of the housing estate.
Then the President of Turkmenistan headed to the venue for the new residential complex opening ceremony. The complex was erected along the highway leading to the Turkmenabat International Airport.
The complex includes 22 four-storeyed apartment houses with improved conditions. There are 40 apartments in each house. The houses designed for big and small families – two-, three- and four-room apartments were built by the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan. The state construction organisations in Lebap Velayat significantly contributed to the implementation of this ambitious social project.
There are large spacious bright rooms with high ceilings and well-equipped kitchens in the new apartments, where all necessary conditions are created. The houses are built in a modern architectural style using the elements of the national decor. Over a thousand of families will get new apartments in the complex.
The new housing estate in Turkmenabat is provided with all necessary social facilities. There are well-equipped children's and playing grounds on the improved territory of the complex.
All those present at the opening ceremony greeted the President of Turkmenistan. In the solemn atmosphere, the Turkmen leader cut the symbolic ribbon, opening the new complex under the storm of applause of the ceremony participants.
Singers, musicians and folklore groups arranged the bright performances near each building. The guests to the festive celebrations were offered with traditional treats, as well as tea with medicinal herbs. Young painters were trying to capture the unforgettable moments of the festival in their drawings.
Then, on the invitation of a family, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited happy new settlers, getting them know better, asking about their work and life.
The head of the family is a teacher at S.Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, his wife is a schoolteacher. “Teachers and senior mentors have always enjoyed great respect among Turkmens, as throughout the history, our people has attached special importance to the education of generations”, the President noted. This noble tradition continues at present.
The family has five sons and one daughter. The youngest of them - twins - told about their work, their profession. The Turkmen leader noted that it was pleasant to see such a friendly and strong family that follows the traditional customs, respects the elders and takes care for the youngers.

In response, the new settlers expressed deep gratitude to the President for the concern about the people of Turkmenistan and the opportunities provided to them to get such a wonderful apartments, where everything meets the modern standards of quality and comfort.
