On 14 July 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan. 

During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers expressed satisfaction with the strong momentum in the development of Turkmen-Uzbek relations. They emphasized that bilateral cooperation continues to receive a powerful impetus through regular, trust-based contacts at the highest state level.

The ministers discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, paying particular attention to the practical implementation of the agreements reached earlier.

In the course of the exchange of views, the sides conducted a detailed review of the progress in implementing joint projects in the fields of trade and economy, transport and logistics, energy, and industry. Special attention was also given to strengthening the traditional cultural and humanitarian ties, including the organization of joint activities in the areas of science, education, and the arts.

The foreign ministers also exchanged views on key regional and international issues of mutual interest, reaffirming the closeness of their positions on ensuring peace, stability, and sustainable development in Central Asia.
