Vegetable growers in the Dashoguz velayat have successfully completed the planting of autumn carrots. The crop was planted here within the appropriate timeframe on forty hectares. Farmers intend to harvest at least 720 tons in autumn. It should be recalled that carrots are grown twice a year in the region. The main part of the planting took place in spring, when 730 hectares were allocated for the crop, from which 180 centners per hectare have already been harvested.

As a rule, vegetable growers in the velayat cultivate varieties of yellow carrots. They are characterized by high yields and acceptable ripening periods. The crop is distinguished by its sweet taste and juiciness. It tolerates heat well and is also considered cold-resistant, making it suitable for cultivation in the weather and climatic conditions of the velayat.

Yellow carrots are also one of the main ingredients in the preparation of local pilaf, and the taste of the dish largely depends on their sweetness. As a rule, when preparing pilaf, local gourmets prefer precisely this type of carrot.

In addition to carrots, around 25,000 tons of tomatoes, more than 9,500 tons of cabbage, and more than 2,000 tons of cucumbers are grown annually in the velayat, while onions are harvested twice during the year. Local farmers are able to achieve such results through the rational use of water and land resources, a careful approach to the selection of crop varieties, and the rational combination of accumulated experience with modern scientific recommendations.
