The forum organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the People’s Republic of China and the International Youth Cultural and Educational Centre in Beijing was dedicated to the motto of the year of 2018 “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road”.
The forum, held in the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan, brought together over 60 participants, including primary students and secondary school teachers, who arrived in Beijing from different cities in the Celestial Empire, journalists and Turkmen students, who get education in Beijing universities.
Greeting the guests, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Chinar Rustamova told about the meaning of the motto “Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road” that reflects the concept of the modern development of the country based on the historical experience, the traditions of peace-keeping and good-neighborly relations, the respect for the spiritual heritage, the aspiration for the regional and global integration and progress.
The presentation about modern Turkmenistan, the life of children in our country, for the harmonious development of which the state has created all the necessary conditions, the Turkmen people’s traditions and culture was of particular interest for children. A team of young reporters interviewed the head of the diplomatic mission of our country. Young journalists were interested in the bright historical facts, the landmarks, the state symbols, the cultural values, the famous tourist routes, the traditions and customs of the people.
A musical and poetic composition prepared by Chinese students and teachers, who performed songs and dances, as well as recited poems in the Turkmen and Chinese languages adorned the meeting.
The meeting participants watched the process of cooking a favorite dish of the national dastarkhan – plov that was offered to all the participants of the event.
