On 23 July 2026, in Malé, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Maldives (with residence in New Delhi) Sh.Geldynazarov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives Iruthisham Adam. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas for the further development of cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The potential for cooperation in the fields of transport, communications and tourism was emphasized. In particular, the importance of successful bilateral cooperation within international organizations was noted.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries with a view to further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Maldives.
