During the current summer season of the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”, the “Mollagara” sanatorium is welcoming numerous guests who come here to relax and improve their health.
The new modern complex of buildings of this magnificent health resort includes: a 6-storey inpatient and medical-diagnostic building with a capacity of 500 places, a 2-storey beauty centre for 35 people, a 3-storey hotel for 170 people, a completely renovated 2-storey medical and health improvement building, a children’s department building for 30 places, as well as a canteen for 250 people. In addition, the territory of the health resort houses an amphitheatre, a library, an Internet café, a restaurant, shops and a hairdressing salon. Furthermore, six residential buildings with 123 apartments intended for the sanatorium’s employees, as well as auxiliary facilities, have been provided.
Alongside the mud therapy, salt bath, physiotherapy, therapeutic exercise and medical-diagnostic departments, the complex applies modern treatment methods at a high level, including cryotherapy, barotherapy, treatment with hot Garagum sand, ozone therapy, hot stones, as well as inhalations with salty and mineral air. The sanatorium has accumulated advanced experience in treating diseases of the musculoskeletal system, rheumatism, disorders of the nervous and genitourinary systems, and gynaecological diseases. The comprehensive treatment procedures restore the health of many patients.
Procedures using hot therapeutic mud have a particularly beneficial effect on the human body. Alternating mud and water baths significantly alleviate conditions caused by salt deposits in the knee joints and inflammation of the lumbar spine. Proper heating of the mud prevents inflammation, making it a unique remedy for treating ear pain and eliminating skin rashes. The complex also provides rehabilitation and treatment for people with spinal and bone injuries.
The lake located on the territory of the “Mollagara” sanatorium plays a major role in the resort gaining worldwide recognition. According to specialists, there is hardly another healing place on Earth that can compare with the local silty black mud and the salty water of this lake. The sandy soil along its shores is covered with dense tamarisk thickets and other unique plant species. This indicates that this beautiful corner of our Motherland is famous not only for its healing waters and mud, clean sands, but also for its favourable ecological environment, which has a beneficial effect on human health.
The sanatorium, which meets international standards, occupies an area of 30 hectares and represents a kind of small town. The developed infrastructure of the health resort – specialised centres for cultural recreation, a swimming pool, hammam, sauna, billiard and tennis halls, sports grounds – significantly increases the effectiveness of health improvement. All facilities of the complex are equipped with advanced medical equipment and necessary resources.
