Turkmen athletes won four medals – one gold, one silver, and two bronze – on the first day of the 11th WKF Central Asian Karate Championship, which started in Aktau.

The three-day competition brought together approximately 500 athletes from six countries – Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – who competed for medals among cadets, juniors and adults in the disciplines of kata (demonstration of formal exercises) and kumite (combat).

According to the Karatedo Federation of Turkmenistan, the team of our country is represented by 36 athletes, 4 coaches, 6 judges, and 1 representative.

On the first day of the championship, our compatriots were awarded medals in kata.

Muhammetresul Hayrullayev, a 7th-grade student at secondary school №18 in the city of Bayramaly, Mary velayat, won the highest award among boys under 14 years old.

Allanur Yalkabov, an 11th-grade student at specialised secondary school №52, won a silver medal among juniors aged 16-17.

The bronze medalists in the youngest age category of 10-11 years old were Musa Gurbanov, a 5th-grade student of secondary school №6 in the city of Bayramaly, Mary velayat, and Shirmuhammet Garymyradov, a 4th-grade student of secondary school №11 in the city of Bayramaly, Mary velayat.
