The enterprises of the “Turkmenenergostroy” concern of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan built a new high-voltage power transmission line, which supplies electricity to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Our country for a long time supplies electricity to the northern provinces of Afghanistan at preferential prices. The issue of completing construction of another power line was considered at the meeting of the Turkmen government in the middle of this month, which increase significantly the volumes of Turkmen electricity supplies to the neighboring country.

Enterprises of the concern "Turkmenenergostroy" - construction department "Sutun", Mary, Dashoguz and Lebap construction and installation units laid a total of about 130 kilometers of high-voltage lines to the border with the neighboring state. The capacity of the Rabatkashan substation (110 kV substation) in the Mary region and the Atamurad substation (500 kV) in the Lebap region were expanded, hundreds of metal and concrete supports were installed, old and new airlines were renovated, renewed distribution systems in order to ensure sustainable power supply. Two electricity transmission lines - 110 kV, as well as a 35/10 kV line are extended to the border regions. The construction of one of them - from the substation "Rabatkashan" is fully completed. The work done by the country's power engineers will provide electricity to the various settlements of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

Turkmenistan initiates important infrastructure projects, such as the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, power transmission lines and fiber-optic communications along the TAP route, the construction of railways providing humanitarian aid and full support to the people of the neighbor state. It has been built a number of social facilities within the framework of the program. The commissioning of a new power line will speed up the restoration of the socio-economic infrastructure of friendly Afghanistan.
