Opening of theatre festival “The Silk Road of Cordiality” was held in the Main Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat.
Theatre artists from all velayats came to the capital for participation in the event organized by the Ministry of Culture. It was said at the opening ceremony that the festival is very important in the context of the slogan of this year “Turkmenistan is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”
Six capital’s and four velayat’s theatres present the potpourri of their stage plays, which are based on the book of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmenistan is the Heart of the Great Silk Road”. Popularization of the phenomenon of this ancient caravan route, which enhanced the rapprochement of the nations and cultures runs as a red line through all plays. This subject was deeply revealed in the book of the Head of State on the examples from national history, ancient legends and modern events in the country.
National tunes, poems of Turkmen writers as well as compositions singing of the achievements of modern epoch were played and sung by national art masters during the event.
In addition, the programme of the plays, which will be performed under the theatre festival in the capital on July 1 – 7, has been presented. As per tradition, several prime releases including «Bagtyýarlyk döwrüniň teatr sungaty», «Amul Hazar arasy», «Ýüpek ýolunyň ýüregi», «Gündogaryň ýyldyzy», «Kerwenbaşynyň ogly», «Gürgenç kyssalary», «Daýahatyn», «Ýüpek ýoly – ýürek ýoly», «Ýüpek rowaýaty», «Ýüreklere ýollar», «Söýgi ummanynda küreksiz» are timed to the festival.
Current festival is to bring new bright colours to national theatre art, having enriched it with mature modern works. The plays reflect such primordial high spiritual and moral merits of Turkmen nation as patriotism, courage, hardworking, dedication and humanism.
