Turkmenistan will prepare a National Concept «International Law and the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan», which will be distributed among UN member states as an official document of the Organisation.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and minister of foreign affairs R. Meredov announced this initiative at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers as part of a report on practical steps to implement the UN General Assembly Resolution «Year of international law, 2028».

The national concept will reveal the relationship between the norms of international law and the legal status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. Between 2026 and 2028, Turkmenistan plans to hold a series of forums and expert meetings with the participation of leading national and foreign experts. Holding these events will help shape the program, theme, and expert composition of the main international forum of 2028.
