Turkmenistan and the United Nations Secretariat will jointly develop a unified Calendar of International Legal Events for 2028, which has been proclaimed the Year of International Law under the relevant United Nations General Assembly Resolution. The official opening ceremony of the Year of International Law will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. These plans were announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.

As noted, the official opening ceremony of the Year of International Law is planned to be held at the beginning of 2028 at the United Nations Headquarters. Throughout the year, special events and high-level meetings will take place at major international centers, including Geneva and Vienna. The Calendar will be developed in close cooperation with the specialized agencies of the United Nations.

The practical implementation of these proposals is intended to strengthen the universally recognized norms of international law, enhance the authority of the principles of the United Nations, and promote a global culture of peace, trust, and mutual understanding.
