Turkmenistan will launch a large-scale educational program aimed at improving the legal literacy of young people, timed to coincide with the proclamation of 2028 as the Year of International Law by a United Nations General Assembly Resolution.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the package of scientific and educational measures at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The initiative is aimed at providing the younger generation with an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals of international law and the mechanisms of the United Nations.

Lectures and special courses devoted to the UN Charter, the international legal system, and its strengthening will be organized at the country's higher education institutions and secondary vocational educational institutions.

With the participation of national and international experts, new textbooks and scientific-methodological manuals are planned to be published, while electronic educational resources will also be developed. Educational institutions will establish a thematic International Law Week, during which seminars featuring simulations of the work of UN bodies will be held.

Competitions of research papers, academic articles, and essays on current issues of international law are also planned to be held regularly among students and young professionals.
