On 11 August 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan Amer bin Ali Al-Shehri.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Saudi relations, as well as topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to further strengthening political and diplomatic dialogue, expanding trade and economic ties, and developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The sides also exchanged views on cooperation within international organizations, emphasizing the importance of constructive cooperation on multilateral platforms. Topical issues of the international and regional agenda were also touched upon.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides expressed their mutual readiness to continue regular contacts and joint efforts aimed at further strengthening friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
