A Conference of Country’s Education Workers

Today, a conference of education workers was held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University under the motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”. The conference summarized the past year and discussed important tasks for the new 2026-2027 academic year.

Before the conference, participants viewed an exhibition evolved in the university foyer dedicated to the achievements of the national education system. The exhibition focused on the invaluable works of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, being valuable guidance for educators and the younger generation.

Particular attention was also drawn to exhibits displaying the achievements of Turkmen students and schoolchildren in international subject Olympiads and competitions, as well as their inventions, made possible by the modern conditions created. Love and pride for their native land, confidently pursuing progress and prosperity, were celebrated in musical performances.

The conference was preceded by a screening of videos highlighting achievements in education. Speakers noted that as a result of the large-scale educational reforms initiated by Hero-Arkadag and successfully continued under the leadership of the head of state, a comprehensively developed, erudite young generation, proficient in modern technologies, is being formed in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state.

Given the enormous importance attached to the development and modernization of the national education system as a priority vector of state policy, the country is creating ample opportunities for raising an educated, broad-minded, and physically and morally healthy generation. Large-scale transformations are being successfully implemented in accordance with programs, concepts, strategies, and the accumulated wealth of national and best practices.

The educational system’s material and technical infrastructure is being consistently improved. Within the framework of the “Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State: National Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan in 2022–2052” and the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028”, large-scale construction of new, modern educational institutions, supplied with the latest computers, laboratory equipment, and interactive and multimedia technologies, continues.

As noted, in the past 2025–2026 academic year, educational activities –from kindergartens to higher education institutions – have steadily developed, taking into account national traditions, best practices, and international standards, ensuring the continuity of the educational process.

Particular attention was paid to teaching methodology during the conference. At the same time, extensive work was undertaken to improve curricula, programs, and textbooks in line with international practices, and teaching and methodological materials for conducting research projects were developed.

Much attention was paid to in-depth study of subjects in general education institutions, encouraging youth creativity, and actively using innovative teaching methods. The goals set for expanding the scope of various competitions held among schoolchildren were achieved, and awards were given to the winning students, their academic supervisors, and teachers who mentored young teachers.

According to the Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052, an important role is assigned to improving the effectiveness of spiritual and moral education in higher education institutions. Along with educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, considerable attention is paid to explaining the key goals of historical development, current trends, and vectors of state policy, and to uncovering the essence of the grand transformations of the new historical era.

The initiatives of regional, continental, and universal significance put forward by neutral Turkmenistan, through which our country makes a significant contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, enhance the sense of pride in our beloved Fatherland.

One of the key conditions for young people to receive a high-quality education in accordance with international standards and to develop into qualified specialists knowledgeable about the achievements of global science and education, is the effective use of modern information technology.

The important challenges facing the domestic education system necessitate the further development of a digital education system based on leading global practices, as well as the widespread adoption of information and communication technologies at all stages of education, combined with innovative approaches. Artificial intelligence technologies are one of the newest and most promising areas for educational development. Our country is currently working closely with international organizations and foreign countries in this area.

The conference also emphasized the importance of promoting humanistic values in education. As noted, ensuring the integrity of education and upbringing is one of the first and most important conditions for their development. Every subject taught in an educational institution not only enriches young people’s professional knowledge but also influences their thinking, life philosophy, and personal development.

The presentations also touched on the challenges facing educators in the context of implementing inclusive education, which entails educating children together in a unified educational environment, regardless of their abilities and capabilities. Inclusive education creates conditions in secondary schools across the country for children to receive an education alongside other children, regardless of their physical, mental, cultural, moral, linguistic, or other disabilities. In this regard, special attention was focused on the extensive work carried out by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, dedicated to the well-being and health of these children. The Foundation’s work also serves as a model for promoting humanistic principles in society and educating young people in the spirit of humanism, nobility, and goodwill inherent in our ancestors.

The conference noted that, in accordance with the concepts for improving the teaching of natural sciences, work is underway to bring the education system up to international standards. There was general agreement that computer technology and innovative methods must be effectively utilized in teaching academic subjects to achieve these objectives. It was emphasized that cooperation with international organizations, including UNESCO, creates extensive opportunities for exchanging experiences in education, culture, and creativity, establishing new friendships, and broadening students’ horizons. This helps ensure that the younger generation receives a modern education, respects the cultures of the world’s peoples, and thoroughly embraces the principles of peace and friendship.

During the in-depth discussion, methods for improving educational work in preschool institutions were also discussed. The reforms being implemented in preschool education, along with strengthening the material and technical infrastructure of preschools, are aimed at enriching the educational process. In preschools, basic concepts are instilled and skills and abilities are developed in accordance with specialized curricula. To ensure the mental, physical, and spiritual development of children, curricula are constantly being improved. Close interaction between families, preschools, schools, and public organizations is a key aspect in the upbringing of the younger generation.

The presentations by representatives of the national education sector reflected the successes achieved in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, which promote the development of the national education system in accordance with international standards.

At the conclusion of the traditional annual meeting, priority tasks were identified to improve the effectiveness of educational work in educational institutions in the new 2026-2027 academic year. Forum participants assured that our country, confidently and rapidly moving toward new development milestones thanks to the support of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag, would continue to work diligently to ensure the proper upbringing of the younger generation of Turkmen citizens and provide them with a high-quality education that meets the high demands of the new historical era.
