At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Deputy Prime Minister B. Mammedov reported on the programme of festive events and the readiness of the education system for the new academic year.

As part of the traditional “first lesson,” thematic classes will be held under the motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence and the opportunities being created for young people.

All children entering the first grade will be ceremonially presented with Bilimli personal laptops on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag. Festive school assemblies and flower-laying ceremonies will be held at the Independence Monument, at the Berdimuhamet Annayev Pedagogical Secondary Vocational School in the city of Arkadag, and at Berdimuhamet Annayev School No. 27 in the settlement of Yzgant.

At the same time, preparations are underway for the opening of the new building complexes of the Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute, with a capacity of 5,000 students, in Ashgabat, and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat.

On September 1, a new 960-seat school and a 320-seat kindergarten will be commissioned in the Ahal velayat, a 240-seat kindergarten in the Dashoguz velayat, as well as two secondary schools with a capacity of 1,000 students each in the Lebap velayat.
