Caring for the health of citizens, and above all for the younger generation, is one of the key priorities of Turkmenistan’s state policy. Another testament to the successful implementation of large-scale healthcare reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and consistently carried out under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is a new medical facility—the International Pediatric Center, which is currently in the final stages of construction.
Recently, the Head of State inspected the progress of work at the construction site of the new complex, located in the southern part of the capital.
The official opening of the modern five-story center, designed to provide highly qualified medical care to children over the age of three, will take place in the year marking the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s sacred independence and will coincide with Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers’ Day. The facility is expected to operate in close international cooperation with leading clinics around the world.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the important role of the new Center in ensuring a high standard of medical services—from consultations and diagnostics to high-tech treatment. Particular attention was paid to the need for continuous professional development of medical personnel and the active introduction of digital solutions into clinical practice, including artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The equipment and facilities of all departments of the clinic meet international standards.
Thus, in the consultation department, the design and interiors of the medical rooms have been developed with consideration for child psychology, with the aim of creating positive emotions and interest among young patients while helping broaden their horizons.
The diagnostic department includes specialized rooms for functional and radiological diagnostics, as well as modern endoscopic systems from leading global manufacturers. The use of AI technologies will enable diagnostic data to be processed rapidly and with the highest degree of accuracy. In addition, the department is equipped with climate-monitoring systems that automatically maintain optimal temperature conditions.
The therapeutic department is equipped with state-of-the-art digital radiography and intensive-care equipment that has no equivalent in the region. The introduction of unique digital solutions will not only improve the effectiveness of treatment but also help distract children during medical procedures, ensuring maximum psychological and emotional comfort.
In the surgical and intensive-care units, communication between all structural departments of the clinic during operations will be carried out online via special monitors, enabling rapid exchange of data and prompt decision-making. The postoperative wards have been designed as isolated environments to eliminate the risk of infectious pathogens entering the rooms.
At the same time, the President of the country identified strict compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, the maintenance of sterility and cleanliness, and the effective operation of ventilation systems as among the principal requirements for the facility’s personnel.
In the inpatient department, the rooms for round-the-clock stays are equipped with everything necessary to ensure the comfort of children. To provide young patients with opportunities for healthy recreation and rehabilitation, a children’s playground has also been installed on the grounds of the inpatient facility.
The forthcoming commissioning of the International Pediatric Center will raise pediatric healthcare in the country to a fundamentally new level.
