Athletes from Turkmenistan made a successful start to the VI World nomad games, held in the Kyrgyz Republic, winning gold and bronze medals for the national team on the first day of competition.
Turkmen athletes won gold and bronze medals in traditional wrestling tournaments in the super-heavyweight categories over 100 kilograms.

The bronze medals in this event were shared between athletes from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

Kemal Kemalov won the second medal for the Turkmenistan national team, taking third place on the podium in the kurash competition. The victory in this discipline was won by Uzbek athlete Numonjon Rajabov. Second place went to Sadegh Azarang from Iran, and the second bronze went to a representative from Kyrgyzstan.
For their achievements, the competition winners were awarded cash prizes of 100 thousand soms, silver medallists received 80 thousand soms, and bronze medallists received 50 thousand soms.
