An official reception dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. The celebratory event was attended by deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan T. Atahallyyev, heads and staff of diplomatic missions, representatives of international organisations, and members of the Tajik diaspora.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Vafo Niyatbekzoda addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. The diplomat emphasised the historical significance of the 9th of September and described modern Tajikistan as a dynamically developing state with a deep cultural heritage.
In his speech, the Ambassador particularly noted the high level of interaction between the two countries.
«Bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, based on the principles of a deep strategic partnership, are developing on the basis of mutual respect and a desire to strengthen cooperation. Regular summit and high-level meetings, a rich agenda of contacts, and a solid legal framework eloquently demonstrate the existence of strong political will to further deepen interstate ties», – said the head of the diplomatic mission.
On behalf of the Turkmen side, deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan T. Atahallyyev delivered a congratulatory message. He emphasised that relations between the two countries are based on centuries-old traditions of good neighbourliness, spiritual community, and fraternal ties.
The deputy-prime noted shared positions of the countries on the international stage and the key role of the two leaders in strengthening ties.
«The closeness of views between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan is clearly evident in their interactions within international structures, primarily the UN. The trusting and friendly relations between the heads of our states and their regular meetings strengthen the principles of mutual understanding. Our cooperation, based on openness and trust, allows us to effectively resolve various issues and make mutually beneficial decisions», – the deputy-prime emphasised.
The evening took place in a warm, friendly atmosphere, once again confirming the mutual desire of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan to comprehensively expand their strategic partnership.
