Today, as part of a visit to Turkmenistan by a representative delegation of the Republic of Moldova, led by Petru Burduja, Chairman of the Moldovan Parliamentary friendship group, bilateral meetings were held at a number of ministries, including the MFA, as well as at the Mejlis, where a meeting was held with the Chairperson of the National Parliament, D. Gulmanova, and a meeting of the Turkmen-Moldovan Parliamentary friendship group.
The guests were introduced to key areas of domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, and humanism, as well as to efforts of the Mejlis to provide legislative support for large-scale reforms in the era of the Revival, of the new epoch of the powerful state.
As is well known, our country has currently created a solid legislative framework that incorporates the best international experience in this area. Important laws and regulations developed and adopted in recent years have given sustainable momentum to the innovative reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and now being successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Members of the delegation from the Republic of Moldova expressed strong interest of their country in expanding cooperation with modern, dynamically developing Turkmenistan, which has significant economic and resource potential.
The parties discussed current issues and prospects for the development of Turkmen-Moldovan relations, noting the need to intensify interparliamentary dialogue, which would facilitate not only the mutual exchange of legislative experience, but also the further deepening of established interstate cooperation and the strengthening of ties of friendship between the peoples of both countries.
In this context, the importance of the activities of the Parliamentary friendship group, created with the aim of strengthening diplomatic, political, trade and economic ties through the instruments of parliamentary diplomacy, was emphasised.
During the meeting, specific plans for deepening mutually beneficial partnerships were discussed, including organizing regular meetings and mutual visits at the parliamentary level, and expanding contacts between relevant committees.
A lively exchange of views on trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation also took place. In this regard, the existence of significant potential for diversifying cooperation and opportunities for implementing joint projects in specific areas of mutual interest was noted.
Having confirmed their mutual commitment to the practical implementation of previously reached agreements, the parties expressed confidence that Turkmen-Moldovan relations will continue to develop successfully, filling with new concrete content.
The ongoing visit also includes meetings at several ministries and a sightseeing tour of the white-marble Turkmen capital.
