As part of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s state visit to the Republic of Korea, high-level talks were held with President Lee Jae-Myung.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan reaffirmed Ashgabat’s strategic interest in deepening multifaceted partnership with the South Korean side. Priority areas of cooperation included investment, trade, energy, the chemical and industrial sectors, railway transport, as well as science, technology, artificial intelligence, environmental protection, and water resources management.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov placed particular emphasis on the prospects for joint work in the transport and logistics sector. He stressed that Turkmenistan regards the Republic of Korea as an important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Head of State noted that Ashgabat, together with its international partners, is actively developing an extensive network of transport and transit infrastructure along the “East–West” and “North–South” routes, and called on Korean companies to participate extensively in the implementation of these promising projects.
