Today, a ceremony marking the opening of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan was held in the city of Gwangju. The event was dedicated to the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea.

The inclusion of cultural figures and artists in the representative delegation of our country clearly demonstrates the particular attention devoted to the comprehensive development of friendly relations with foreign countries. The organization of such cultural events contributes to the further strengthening of fruitful cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea by showcasing national traditions and based on the principles of mutual respect and trust.

The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, held at the National Asian Culture Center in Gwangju, was attended by heads of the ministries of culture and relevant agencies of the two countries, cultural and artistic figures, as well as numerous guests.

During a meeting between the heads of the relevant ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea held as part of the event, a productive exchange of views took place on opportunities to expand cultural ties. As was emphasized, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation and promoting its historical and cultural heritage, which plays a special role in the context of interstate relations.

The organization of international festivals, exhibitions, conferences, and concerts featuring cultural figures and artists serves as an impetus for the development of culture and interstate cultural and humanitarian dialogue.

As is known, on the eve of the event, during President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s state visit to the Republic of Korea, documents were signed aimed at developing Turkmen-Korean relations across a wide range of areas. Among them was the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Cultural Center of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the National Asian Culture Center of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea on cooperation in the field of cultural exchange. Participants in the meeting noted that this document would give impetus to the intensification of ties between the cultural centers of the two countries.

In the afternoon, a concert by Turkmen artists was held at the National Asian Culture Center to mark the opening of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea. An exhibition of national decorative and applied arts was also organized here, featuring museum exhibits, works by artists and sculptors, and national costumes. This provided an excellent opportunity for numerous residents of the friendly country to become acquainted with the national values and traditions of the Turkmen people.

The speakers at the ceremonial event particularly emphasized that the cultural diplomacy actively pursued by independent and permanently neutral Turkmenistan contributes to the expansion of multilateral relations with countries around the world and the region. The fruitful bilateral ties in the humanitarian sphere serve as a clear example of this. By organizing joint cultural events, Turkmenistan consistently implements its policy of peacefulness, good-neighborliness, and positive neutrality, demonstrating in practice its openness to equal, effective, and multifaceted cooperation for the sake of universal well-being and sustainable development. In this context, the participants of the celebration expressed confidence that the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea would contribute to the further strengthening of friendship between the two countries and their peoples.

The vocal and musical performances left an unforgettable impression on those gathered. The performances by singers, musicians, and dance ensembles, which reflected the national character and traditions, enriched the concert with a wealth of content. The performance of songs in different languages by stars of the Turkmen pop scene gave the celebration a particularly festive atmosphere. Such events contribute to expanding cultural and humanitarian dialogue between Turkmenistan and other countries. The regular organization of cultural and artistic events, including abroad, is a result of the great attention paid by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, to the development of cooperation in this field.

The high spiritual energy on the stage once again confirmed that art knows no borders. According to the general opinion of the audience, who experienced a wealth of positive emotions from the presented vocal and musical compositions, such events promote mutual interest among peoples in each other’s national heritage and achievements in contemporary art.

The concert program included ancient and contemporary songs and melodies, as well as vibrant choreographic and folk performances. In a word, the concert became a true gift for Korean spectators, who warmly welcomed our talented artists.

Thus, the creative event, which turned into a celebration of song, music, and friendship, opened up new opportunities for the mutual enrichment of the cultures of the two peoples and the expansion of cooperation in this sphere.
