These days, winter wheat is being sown in an organised manner in the Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan. In anticipation of the start of these works, all necessary measures were taken for the successful and timely implementation of a responsible campaign, including the necessary amount of specialised equipment and high-quality seed material.
«Alekseevich» and «Bezostaya-100» wheat varieties, which have proven themselves well in local weather and climatic conditions, will form the basis of the future crop. These medium-ripened varieties are characterised by high yields, frost resistance, tolerate drought well, are resistant to lodging and overstocking on the root and have excellent baking properties.
The largest volume of sowing work is to be carried out in the S. Turkmenbashy etrap, which is the largest wheat producer in the velayat. Thirty thousand hectares are allocated for culture here. Already at the beginning of the campaign, about four thousand hectares were sown with seeds.
The farmers of the velayat intend to make every effort to successfully carry out the sowing campaign and complete it within an acceptable time frame. As is known, the velayat is one of the largest grain granaries of the country. A complete agricultural cycle has been created here, including seed procurement, sowing, harvesting, storage, and grain processing. As a result of government investments, the region today has sufficient production facilities that meet international standards for the storage and processing of agricultural products and the further successful development of the grain industry.
