On the 18th of September, a ceremonial conference was held at the Institute of international relations of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan to commemorate the awarding of the title of «Honorary Doctor of Political Science» to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov by Sungkyunkwan University (Republic of Korea) during his state visit to this friendly country.
Before the event, jointly organised by the Ministry of foreign affairs, the Ministry of education, and the Academy of sciences of Turkmenistan, participants were treated to a large-scale exhibition in the foyer of the university. The exhibition reflects the truly historic events of the year «Independent, neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses» as well as foreign policy achievements of the country.
Speakers at the ceremonial conference expressed sincere congratulations to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the success of his state visit to the Republic of Korea and the first «Central Asia – Republic of Korea» Summit. It was emphasised that the awarding of the title of «Honorary Doctor of Political Science» to Arkadagly Hero Serdar by Sungkyunkwan University, as well as the presentation of the Honorary Badge and a special document of the Korea international trade association to the head of state, were historic events of this year, which is held under the motto «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged horses».
As was specifically noted, these decisions serve as further evidence of international recognition of foreign policy strategy of our state, implemented under the leadership of the President of the country, and the increase in the authority of Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the world. These events give the Turkmen people a sense of pride.
During the meeting, participants emphasised that the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea clearly demonstrated the high level of trust and mutual respect between the two peoples. Furthermore, the substantial package of documents signed during the visit, as well as the high-level negotiations held in Seoul, laid a solid foundation for the implementation of large-scale projects in various sectors of the economy.
The speakers presented reports on improving the quality and level of higher education in our country. Particular emphasis was placed on in-depth study of foreign languages of the students, including the teaching of the Korean language. This demonstrates the successful completion of tasks aimed at integrating young people into the global scientific community. Those gathered also noted that Turkmen-Korean relations have reached a new level of development in recent years.
It should be noted that universities of our country make a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists in this field. The results of this work are reflected in the harmonious development of the Fatherland, which confidently and swiftly – like the Ahal-teke horse – moves towards new heights of progress.
At the conclusion of the ceremonial conference, its participants adopted an Address to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
