A telephone conversation took place today between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on his birthday and wished him good health, happiness, and great success in his government work for the benefit of the Turkmen people.

Taking this opportunity, the head of the friendly state asked to convey warm words of greeting to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, who makes a great contribution to the strengthening and progressive development of relations between the two countries based on friendship, brotherhood, and good-neighbourliness.

Thanking for the congratulations and best wishes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan highly values its relations with fraternal Uzbekistan and attaches great importance to comprehensive cooperation with its close neighbour and reliable partner.

The head of state emphasised that Turkmen-Uzbek relations are currently developing actively and consistently, based on the principles of good-neighbourliness, friendship, and mutual assistance, reflecting a high level of mutual trust and understanding. Taking this opportunity, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his personal contribution to the comprehensive development of strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As noted, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan successfully cooperate not only on a bilateral basis, but also within the framework of international organisations. This is clearly demonstrated by the mutual support of international initiatives and proposals put forward within the framework of authoritative organisations.
