As was reported, the event that opened the next page in the chronicle of the Turkmen-Afghan friendship took part on July 26. A new transmission line with a capacity of 100 megawatt per hour was the first in additional supplies of electricity to various provinces of the neighboring country. The significance of this event for the socio-economic development of the Badghis Province was underlined in the letter of gratitude, addressed to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The letter says “the homes of Afghan residents are now illuminated with the light of the 110 kV power line built due to your personal attention, commissioned with the participation of the President of Afghanistan and representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan”.
The letter underlines that the new transmission line “having become a bright symbol of Your, highly respected President of Turkmenistan, fraternal and good-hearted attitude towards the people of Afghanistan, will forever stay in the thankful memory of the eople in Badghis Province”.
As is known, millions of kilowatt-hours of Turkmen electricity have already been sent to the neighboring country along the international electric routes Imamnazar-Andkhoy and Serhetabat-Herat, thereby creating conditions for improving the social and living conditions of Afghan consumers, opening up new industries and creating jobs.
During the opening ceremony of the new power transmission line, IRA President Ashraf Ghani underlined that Afghanistan considered Turkmenistan as its good friend and reliable partner and highly appreciated the constructive policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that stands as an effective factor to ensure peace and security in the region.
The Afghan people’s words of gratitude, filled with sincerity and thankfulness, addressed to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov are the best assessment and the evidence of the effectiveness of the Turkmen leader’s efforts to stabilize the situation in the neighboring country.
In conclusion of the letter, the Khyakim of Badghis Province expressed confidence in the further development of good-neighborly relations between our countries and deep gratitude for the assistance provided to the Afghan people in the establishment of a new peaceful life.
