Vepa Abdysetdarov, a lecturer at the Department of Cyber-Physical Systems, and Mergen Nunnakov, a lecturer at the Department of Chemical Technologies of the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, have been sent to pursue master’s degrees at the University of Tsukuba in Japan.

The training of the Turkmen educators is being conducted from September 12, 2026, to March 31, 2029, as part of the Development Studies Program “SDGs Global Leader”, implemented by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The study trip is being carried out on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding on Joint Research in the Field of Hydrogen Energy, signed on April 7, 2025, between the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the University of Tsukuba (Japan).

As part of the program, the Turkmen lecturers will pursue master’s degrees at the University of Tsukuba in the fields of hydrogen energy and sustainable development. During their studies, the young Turkmen specialists will attend classes in specialized disciplines, conduct research aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and study Japan’s experience in this field.

The education and research conducted at one of the world’s leading universities, with the participation of young scientists from the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University, will make a significant contribution to the development of high technologies and sustainable energy systems in our country.
