Speaking at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in Ashgabat on the 23rd of September, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced the consistent implementation of large-scale measures to strengthen transport and communications infrastructure of the country.
The head of state noted that powerful transport and logistics system of the country opens up new economic prospects for both Turkmenistan and the entire region. Priority tasks of the industry remain increasing the capacity of transport arteries, expanding international and transit freight traffic, as well as implementing artificial intelligence technologies and expanding the range of digital services.
The head of state paid special attention to the development of the national merchant marine fleet and, in this regard, the effective use of the potential of the Turkmenbashy international seaport. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reminded that the dry cargo ship «Gadamly», built at the domestic shipbuilding and ship repair yard «Balkan», set out on its first international voyage this year.
It was emphasised that the Government will continue to modernise material and technical baseof the industry and construct new transport and communications infrastructure facilities.
