In Turkmenistan, large-scale work continues to modernize highways and strengthen the material and technical base of the relevant industry. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced this on the 23rd of September at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in Ashgabat.
The head of state reminded that the «Mary-Turkmenabat» section of the «Ashgabat-Turkmenabat» high-speed highway, with a total length of 600 kilometres, was commissioned this year.
In addition, construction of a highway along the route «Turkmenbashy – Garabogaz – Kazakhstan border» is currently underway at an accelerated pace. It is also planned to begin reconstruction of the important «Ashgabat-Dashoguz» highway by the end of the year.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that ongoing infrastructure reforms are aimed at transforming Turkmenistan into a leading industrial and high-tech centre in the region.
