On the 35th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, the new Ahal-teke equestrian complex of the President of the country, designed for 1200 people, will be officially opened. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, declared this on the 23rd of September at a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty in Ashgabat.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasised that Ahal-teke horses are a national treasure and the main symbol of development of the state. The country is systematically working to preserve the purity of the breed, develop horse breeding, and popularise national horse breeding traditions in the international arena.
Hero-Arkadag reported that, within the framework of the 2026 motto «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged horses», a specialised program of horse breeding and equestrian events has been approved. A special Organising committee has been formed to organise and conduct them at a high government level.
