Musical journeys in the Velvet season of Classics

Recently, connoisseurs of high art in the capital of Turkmenistan gathered in the «Art Nokady» hall of the «Arkach» shopping and entertainment centre for another evening of the «About music with Vladimir Mkrtumov» series. The evening was called «The Velvet season of Classics. Musical journeys» and was a wonderful gift for everyone in attendance.

The original interior of the «Art Nokady» hall, its intimate setting, and excellent acoustics allowed guests to comfortably immerse themselves in a world of sound. Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov took listeners on a journey through eras and countries. Each stop along the way was brought to life by a new story from the maestro, quotes from letters from great composers, and, of course, stunning music.

«Italian holidays» presented guests with sunny melodies by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Felix Mendelssohn and Sergey Rachmaninoff. «Parisian evenings» brought the refined French charm of works of Claude Debussy to the hall. The «Orient express» whisked the audience through the colorful musical landscapes of Arno Babajanyan, while «Native Pier» returned travelers to their roots, thanks to the profound and familiar works of outstanding Turkmen composers Chary Nurymov and Nury Halmammedov.

The audience responded to the artist with sincere responsiveness. The audience held their breath, listening to every passage, and at the finale they burst into long, warm applause. Touching finale of the evening included gifts in the style of a musical journey for each guest – exclusive luggage tags. Information of the owner can be written on the back, and to prevent luggage from being lost, each tag is attached to the suitcase with a traditional Turkmen amulet, an alaja, which will protect the traveller on the road.

The audience thanked organisers of the evening for the immense aesthetic pleasure and wished the «About music» project continued success!
