International Women’s Dialogue Held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone

Today, the International Women’s Dialogue “The Role of Women in Maintaining Peace and Achieving Sustainable Development” began its work in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The large-scale event is attended by heads and representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, public organizations of our country, the parliaments of the CIS states and the Republic of Türkiye, specialized agencies of the United Nations, as well as the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In today’s global environment, the role of women is of paramount importance in ensuring peace, social stability, and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Women’s potential, rooted in peacefulness, a creative approach, and a deep sense of responsibility for the future of generations, serves as a powerful driving force for positive change in all spheres of public life.

International experience confirms that the active participation of women in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and strategic decision-making directly contributes to strengthening harmony in society. The implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions on the “Women, Peace and Security” agenda has become one of the key indicators of national policies in many states striving to achieve long-term stability.

In Turkmenistan, ensuring gender equality, providing comprehensive support to women, and protecting their legitimate rights have been identified as priority tasks of state policy. Our country, consistently demonstrating its commitment to the fundamental principles of the United Nations, is incorporating international standards into its national legislation and the work of state bodies.
