Turkmenistan has proposed intensifying the practical development of transport corridors through the Caspian region

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov called on the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan to ensure maximum substance in joint efforts to develop transport and logistics connectivity across the continent. The head of state made this statement on the 8th of October while addressing the eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region and Azerbaijan at the «Avaza» National tourist zone.

As the President of Turkmenistan emphasised, the participating states of this high-level meeting possess dynamic economies and clearly recognise the potential of their geoeconomic position. In this context, the «Central Asia – Caspian Sea – South Caucasus – Europe» transport route is set to play a key role, developing the «East–West» and «North–South» corridors.

The Head of State emphasised that constructive cooperation among the Caspian littoral states–Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan–can facilitate the integration and full-fledged participation of the entire Central Asian region, as well as other interested countries, in these international projects. In this context, the readiness to provide advanced port and logistics capabilities was reaffirmed once again.

«Turkmenistan has repeatedly stated its readiness to make its Caspian infrastructure available in the common interest and on a mutually beneficial basis», noted the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
