Robotics: Turkmen schoolchildren achieve success in the Republic of Korea

Turkmen schoolchildren performed successfully at the "FIRST Global Challenge 2026" World Robotics Championship held in the Republic of Korea. The young representatives of our country won a silver medal in the "Skills Challenge" category (individual classification) and a bronze medal in the "Winning Alliance" category (team classification).

Teams from 185 countries competed in the championship, which took place on October 7–10 in the city of Incheon. The national team of Turkmenistan was coached by Murat Sahetgulyyev, a teacher at Specialized Educational Complex No. 1 in Arkadag City, and Davut Gurbanov, a student at Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University.

The national team comprised students from Specialized Secondary School No. 97 with advanced study of foreign languages in Ashgabat: Suhan Novbatov, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Aznavur Cholukov, Dayhan Gurbanov, and Arslan Babajiyev, who demonstrated a high level of preparation and skill.

"Our students demonstrated great team spirit and confidently advanced to the semifinals from the very beginning of the competition, scoring 295 points in the team standings. We are genuinely proud that they earned silver and bronze medals based on the championship results. This success at such a prestigious international tournament will further inspire youth to master advanced technologies," noted team leader Murat Sahetgulyyev.

Organized annually in the format of the Olympic Games, the "FIRST Global Challenge" international robotics tournament was dedicated this time to finding innovative solutions to combat wildfires ("Igniting Innovation").

Thanks to the wise leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, all necessary conditions are created in the country for Turkmen schoolchildren to decently represent Turkmenistan at international competitions. The success of our students at the prestigious World Robotics Championship stands as a clear testament to the comprehensive care provided for the younger generation.
