On 13 October 2026, the 5th Meeting of the High-Level Group of the DARYA Regional Programme commenced in Ashgabat. The meeting focuses on skills development in the context of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.  

During the first day of the meeting, participants discussed key issues related to training qualified personnel for the transport and logistics sector, developing vocational education and strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan M. Bäşimowa highlighted the importance of developing transport connectivity for expanding international and regional cooperation. She noted that the effective operation of transport corridors requires not only modern infrastructure but also qualified specialists equipped with the necessary professional competencies.

It was emphasized that human capital development, the improvement of vocational education systems and workforce training in line with current labour market requirements are essential conditions for enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.

Particular attention during the meeting was devoted to exchanging experience between Central Asian countries and the European Union, strengthening cooperation among government authorities, educational institutions and the private sector, and identifying further areas for regional cooperation in skills development.
