Package of Turkmen-Kyrgyz Agreements Signed

Bilateral documents were signed following the talks between the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic that took place in Ashgabat today.

The Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Tax Evasion with Regard to Income Taxes; Agreement on Trade and Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation; Memorandum of Understanding on Basic Principles of Cooperation in the Sphere of Transport; Agreement on Cooperation in Disaster Prevention and Mitigation were signed on the intergovernmental level.

The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic adopted the Program of Cooperation for 2019-2020. The Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Unions of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Ashgabat and Bishkek established sworn brotherhood relation, this was reflected in the Agreement between the city administration of the capital of Turkmenistan and the mayor’s office of the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Furthermore, the sides adopted the Implementation Plan for the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Agriculture that was signed by the relevant authorities in Bishkek in 2015 and the Cooperation Program in the Field of Archives for 2018-2020. The Cooperation Agreement was signed between the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sooronbay Jeenbekov signed the Declaration on Strategic Cooperation, Strengthening Friendship and Trust between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

After the signing ceremony of bilateral documents at the Oguzhan Palace, the leaders of the two countries made statements to the media.
