On 28 October 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Yegor Zaitsev, Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Turkmenistan, who is concluding his mission in the country. During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the World Health Organization, highlighting the importance of the partnership in strengthening the national healthcare system, improving medical services and implementing the priorities of state policy in the field of public health.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasized the important role of the World Health Organization in promoting international cooperation in public health and noted the significance of constructive engagement with the Organization in implementing national and international programmes.

In turn, Ye.Zaitsev expressed his gratitude to the Turkmen side for the fruitful cooperation and comprehensive support provided throughout his tenure in the country. The achievements of their joint efforts were also highlighted, and the WHO reaffirmed its interest in further developing its partnership with Turkmenistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan’s foreign ministry wished Ye.Zaitsev every success in his future professional endeavours.
