President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave Kurban Bayramy food donation in Nowruz Valley and took part in the events organized on occasion of this wonderful celebration, which were held near Ashgabat in Nowruz Valley with the building of the «Ak öý» built in the shape of huge yurta (traditional Turkmen tent).
The Speaker of the Mejlis, deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, hyakims of Ashgabat and velayat have welcomed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The President and other participants of the ceremony went to social event building looking around the panorama of celebration action in their way.
Wonderful city from oriental fairy tale stretched out its premises there. Spacious meadow became huge stage for big celebration and Turkmen village reconstructed with all traditional attributes became its decoration.
Its features are highlighted by craftsman workshops and colourful shopping tents with turbulent crowded activities around them as it was in oriental bazaars , which appeared along the trade routes connecting the cities and regions. This is loud Turkmen village riddled with bright ornaments and all colours where one can dive into incredible atmosphere of people’s life and feel its originality.
Ancient melodies performed by bakhshy with emotional audience around them were beautiful background for this. Fights of wrestlers and joyful national games, for which there was special place on crowded square in old days, emerged in the distance.
Smoke from the fire burning under cauldrons with the treats, which tantalizing smell spreads around everywhere, goes up the sky; ornamented table-cloth and tables are laid. Cooks, the experts in ancient recipes, demonstrated the cooking of national dishes and offered to taste it to the guests.
Neatly decorated yurtas were placed around big show-white Ak öý like colourful round dance. Ancient traditions and rites, original crafts were revived there, handcrafts were demonstrated and scenes on folklore motifs were played.

Having noted that current events are held in Nowruz Yaylasy ground, the Head of Turkmenistan said that this valley has turned into the place where our ancient traditions have their triumph and where we widely celebrate our national holidays. The building of Ak öý has become the symbol and embodiment of national traditions, which reflects the beginning of the wellbeing of every family in our sovereign state.
Various food is cooked on Kurban Bayramy and celebration table-cloths are laid widely. They bring together people around them who talk to each other and pray for common prosperity. Tal swings are installed in the cities and towns, happy celebrations are organized. The art masters create celebration atmosphere by their performances.
All of these demonstrate the strength of our state and its prosperity, it unites and consolidates the nations, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted.
Kurban Bayramy is an integral part of Turkmen world. Our nations reflected its belief, traditions, rites and customs in the content of this ancient celebration. That is why it is so important in education of growing generation with patriotism, honesty, friendliness, loyalty, respect of the elders.
We chose “Turkmenistan – the Heart of the Great Silk Road” as the slogan of 2018, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said. Restoring the Silk Road, we showed our country as the state of humanity and the most noble goals to the world.
We support friendly relations with other states and pursue the policy of peace-loving and good neighbourliness. That is why peaceful way of development chosen by us find the approval and support abroad and international authority of our neutral state is steadily growing, the President highlighted.
Having noted that preparation of the next anniversary of the country is carried out these days, the Head of the State said that the first session of the People’s Council would be held before the celebration in the capital. Having united and gathered together the representatives of all levels of the society in one place, the People’s Council would demonstrate again its integrity and solidarity and will show the wisdom of our ancient traditions and that the nation chooses its own destiny itself.
After, the Head of the State asked the Mufti of Turkmenistan to say a prayer.
After the pray, various dishes of national cuisine have been served.
After the food, the Mufti has read celebration prayer.
