Models of the facilities of the second phase of the city of Arkadag, whose opening is planned for 2027, have been presented at the international exhibition "Development of the Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan" taking place in Ashgabat.
The architectural concept of the new facilities has been thought out down to the smallest detail. Each building is distinguished by a striking appearance and the multifunctionality of its interior spaces. Thus, the main commercial and public heart of the new district will be the high-tech center "Arkadag," designed in an original sunflower shape and surrounded by extensive greenery.
A harmonious continuation of this concept will be "Saglyk" Park with a concert venue and green landscapes. Parallel water bodies will be located in various zones of the park. One of them will be decorated with statues of steeds, another with figures of camel caravans.
A special place among the architectural novelties is occupied by the bus station in the shape of a horseshoe. The idea for this shape was inspired by the motto of the year: "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses."
The designer of the facility was the company "Yiti Galam," and the construction was carried out by the economic society "Kent gurluşyk."
"The bus station includes two terminals – international and intercity. A special fleet of electric vehicles and electric buses will serve the city of Arkadag. The complex is designed for a passenger flow of 1,500 people daily," noted the General Director of "Yiti Galam," Azat Artykov.
The facility is located 35 kilometers from Ashgabat and has been designed on the principle of a mini-airport. Everything is provided here for safety and comfort, including scanners and inspection areas. A car showroom and retail zones will also be located on the territory of the complex.
All the new infrastructure is being built around the concept of a "smart" city, based on high technologies and ecology. Smart home systems with smartphone control, high-speed fiber-optic internet, 5G communications, as well as intelligent video surveillance and smart traffic management have already been introduced into the urban environment. Eco-friendly transport circulates within the city, and "smart" bus stops operate on the streets. The urban environment itself has become an example of the active introduction of green technologies.
The second phase of the city of Arkadag not only expands the boundaries of the new center but also sets the standard for modern technological cities of the region, where futuristic design, ecology and practical convenience for residents work as a single mechanism.
