Turkmen-Chinese business forum started its work in Shanghai

On November 6, 2026, the Turkmen-Chinese business forum opened in Shanghai, the People's Republic of China, in conjunction with the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the 9th China International Import Expo-2026.

The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in partnership with TMT Consulting Group, within the framework of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the year proclaimed under the motto “Independent neutral Turkmenistan – homeland of purposeful heavenly horses”.

The forum brings together more than 500 representatives of government institutions and business communities of the two countries.

As part of the event, participants visited the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, where the country's economic achievements and products of Turkmen manufacturers are showcased.

At the plenary session entitled “Development of the Great Silk Road: A New Stage of Strategic Partnership”, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Mergen Gurdov delivered welcoming remarks.

The forum focuses on prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, developing industrial partnerships, and strengthening direct contacts between the business communities of Turkmenistan and China.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities for implementing joint projects in the energy, textile, construction and electrical engineering sectors, introducing modern technologies and diversifying bilateral trade. Chinese partners were also briefed on Turkmenistan's investment potential and the favorable conditions created in the country for foreign investors.

Following the event, a number of bilateral documents between business entities of the two countries are expected to be signed.

The Turkmen-Chinese business forum will continue until 7 November.
