The briefing on the rally "Amul-Khazar 2018" is conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on August 28. The event was attended by representatives of embassies and international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as employees of domestic and foreign media.
The heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Sport and Youth affairs, as well as the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Turkmen Dunyasi” gave a speech during the briefing for the audience.
Participants were informed in detail about the comprehensive preparations for the upcoming “Amul-Khazar 2018” rally, the qualifying stage. During the briefing, the participants were provided with detailed information on the preparations for the international rally, the features of its route and significance in the context of popularization of the historical and cultural heritage, natural attractions and today's achievements of Turkmenistan.The upcoming rally-raid is not only a grandiose sports event, but also a symbol of Turkmenistan's commitment to the policy in the development of international transit and transport corridors. The attention of those present was accentuated on the environmental component of the project, in the context of the initiative to include the Karakums in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The special status of this large-scale motor sport project is attached to the fact that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov not only put forward the idea of these competitions, but personally patronizes its implementation, from organizational issues to practical actions. The rally is expected to involve numerous stars of the world rally - these are the numerous winners of the rally "Dakar," Africa Eco Flight "and" Silk Road ".
