The screening of Korean films shown at the Ashgabat cinema within the framework of the Korean Week organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea presents trends in the development of this art form, as well as the stylistic and genre variety of South Korean film production, which arouses great interest in prestigious international festivals.

The film "The Secret of the Widow" is a detective story that immerse us into the atmosphere of the early 18th century. A talented detective, who owns the method of deduction, performs secret tasks of the king. The audience witnessed exciting adventures and political intrigues, in which the main character and his friend showed themselves no less resourceful than the four musketeers did. The presence of two huge and aggressive dogs in the film brought shades of a fantasy thriller into the plot. The film was remembered by a perfectly selected actor's ensemble, the finest detail in the work of the artist-director and operator.

The third film, presented to the Ashgabat audience, is "Arahan" dedicated to martial arts. The seven great Masters, once fearless and invincible, turned into grumbling old men. When the simple-hearted policeman Arahan breaks into their life, they understand that he is exactly whom they need ... The techniques of oriental combat are closely intertwined with the plot confrontation of light and dark forces. About how Arahan helped the seven Masters win the ruler of Evil and found his love, is narrated in the action movie with elements of comedy.

The films included in the program of the Korean Week leave a feeling of emotional fullness, energy, courage and wisdom. These works represent the eastern view on the development of world cinema reflecting the cultural identity.
