The national operator CJSC “Altyn Asyr” received one hundred base stations for the deployment of mobile communications in remote locations of the country. These stations will be installed on the territory of Ahal, Balkan and Dashoguz regions.
The new equipment is purchased at the expense of the company. The base radio broadcasting stations will be procured with the funds of a credit line allocated by the Islamic Development Bank for the implementation of a large-scale project “Development of telecommunication networks of Turkmenistan” starting next year. Within the framework of a project supported by an international financial institution, CJSC “Altyn Asyr” should ensure the full and widespread introduction of this type of communication, including 3G, 4G, and in the near future 5G-speed Internet and other services. The project will allow to fully cover the territory of the country with cellular communication.
It is planned to purchase more than 600 units of basic broadcasting equipment operating in 2G, 3G and 4G standards to solve this problem. More than 120 base stations of 4G will be installed only in the capital, which will increase the existing network capacity of this standard.
