The guests from Italy are on the stage of the Music and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli. Ashgabat lovers of foreign music and guests of the capital have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Italian group, whose repertoire includes songs from the 30s and 50s of the last century, performed in a crooner style, which is distinguished by a narrative and soft presentation of musical material that includes elements of blues and Hawaiian music Broadway musicals and bel canto.

The singer Naim Abid is one of the most famous Italian crooners. The owner of a plastic voice with a wide range is subject to both ethnic and modern music. In addition, the innate arranger is easily given an elegant performing style in any retro piece.

Pianist Fabio Gorlier, after graduating from the conservatory in the piano class in Turin, was so interested in jazz that he became a participant in four jazz festivals in Italy. Conservatory double bassist, musician and composer-arranger Riccardo Barbera. Folko Fedele is a drummer, a graduate of the Academy of Modern Music in Milan, collaborates with a number of groups, performs with symphony orchestras, and participates in the recording of movie soundtracks.

The concert took place with a full house. Dancing on the stage, Naim came out and sang the song “You Are a Part of Me” by Kohl Porter, captivating the audience with a delightful baritone. Naim was not only singing, he histrionically lived every number, broadcasting from the stage a rich gamut of emotions and positive energy. The strength of his impact was so great that the audience went on stage to dance.

Bahar Durdyeva, famous Turkmen vocalist, fluent in Italian, composed the magnificent stage duet with Naim. Bahar and Naim sang the song “In the Turkmen Steppe” by Nury Halmamedov at the end of the concert.

To the question: “Why, as a rather young man, he chose songs of the older generation for his repertoire?”, Naim replied, that he considered it his noble mission to preserve and bring these bright and talented works to modern music lovers. The concert was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat.
