Provision of quality drinking and irrigation water to the largest agricultural and industrla region of the country is priority direction of the activity of Ahal Hydrogeology Expedition of the State Corporation Turkmengeologiya. Hydrogeologists successfully fulfil this task achieving high production indicators.
Regular monitoring of supply schedule, balance and level of mineralization of ground waters is carried out. 777 wells, which are used for control of the level of ground waters, have been drilled in different years to obtain necessary data. In addition, hydrogeologists monitor the condition of underground sources.
This year, the expedition has continued the work on exploration of subsoil water bearing layers, clarification of the reserves as well as controlled the condition of existing and prepared 90 new wells of 100 – 150 meters depth, having developed significant volume of investments.
Provision of contractual works of supply of water to entrepreneurs and leasers is one of the directions of activity of hydrogeologists. For the past two years, engineers prepared around one hundred 393.7 mm diameter wells for supply of drinking and irrigation water under the contracts with business entities.
Two hundred wells designated for water supply of etrap centres and farming associations have been rehabilitated on the territory from Serakhs to Bami.
Survey and exploration work is continued in number of the regions of Ahal Velayat. Samples and image footages of the territory are taken for study of the condition of ground waters. Data received by survey teams will be used for the clarification of the reserves of ground waters, forecast of the resources, development of operation conditions of the deposits during construction works, cultivation of agricultural works, establishment of industrial facilities as well as for protection of fresh water from contamination and exhaustion.
Work for exploration of ground waters, clarification of their reserves as well as for operation of the wells for comprehensive provision of the settlements of Ahal Velayat is continued.
