Ashgabat hosts the first International Consumer Goods Fair of the CIS opened in Ashgabat

The International Consumer Goods Fair of the CIS opened in the Turkmen capital.

Turkmenistan has received the right to host the forum organized with the framework of the Commonwealth for the first time as the country presiding over the CIS in 2012.

The fair organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan has brought together the delegations representing ten countries in Ashgabat. The international forum demonstrates a wide range of commodity production that is of particular interest for mutually beneficial cooperation: starting from construction industry and domestic appliances to food and light industry.


The state and private manufacturing enterprises, famous companies and firms that won the recognition in the internal and foreign markets as well represent their countries, including the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Turkmenistan. The Guests of Honour to the exposition are Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Georgy Petrov and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaikhov.

The International Consumer Goods Fair of the CIS occupies two storeys of the Chandybil Trading Centre that is more than 7,000 square meters. For 20 days, this huge territory has turned into an international supermarket where each country will showcase its production and export potential as well as will demonstrate opportunities for establishing new business relations.


The forum aimed at promoting innovative technologies has become international business training. Calling upon for developing fruitful international scientific and technological, trading and economic relations, business contacts, intensive exchange of experience and ideas, the fair has provided a platform for presentation of new projects and proposals as well as has allowed foreign guests to learn more about achievements of various branches and structures of the national economy of Turkmenistan.


It should be noted that participants of the International Consumer Goods Fair of the CIS were exempted from custom duties for carriage of exhibits and consumer’s goods as well as from consular, participation and other fees stipulated by the legislation of our country.
