The session will be held under the aegis of the Executive Committee of International Fund for Saving of Aral Sea under support of the Regional Programme “Transboundary Management of Water Recourses in Central Asia” of the German International Cooperation Society and Regional Ecological Centre for Central Asia (RECCA).
Representative of working groups from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as structural divisions of the Fund – Interstate committees for coordination water management and sustainable development, will take part in the discussion of the proposals given by the states for development of ASBP – 4.
The meeting is held in the context of agreements of the Summit of the Heads of the States Founders of the IFAS, which was held in Turkmenistan last year, as well as in accordance with the decisions of the Fund’s Board.
The process of development of the draft of regional programme is in active phase. The document is developed in accordance with national consulting services and includes four main directions – integrated use of water resources, ecological, social and economic as well as improvement of institutional and legal mechanisms.
Theme grouping of the projects was held taking into consideration national priorities of the countries – monitoring of water resources of Transboundary Rivers in climate changes, implementation of sustainable land use and other.
The agenda of the session includes the review of proposals and coordination of the measures for improvement of organizational structure and contractual and legal framework of the Fund. After the coordination of the project goals of the ASBP, the session of international partners where aspects of the participation in the Programme will take place.
